Structured Mock Interviews · Private Beta

Know whether it's your story or your delivery.

Most interview practice ends with a vague "sound more confident." InterviewRigor scores your answers the way a trained assessor would — so you learn whether the example was weak, or a strong example was told badly. Those are different problems, and they have different fixes.

BARS-anchored scoring Content / Delivery split Competency-based questions Level-calibrated (IC → Senior) Composites computed in code
Why it's different

Scored like a structured interview

Questions come from a competency-organized bank and every answer is rated on behaviorally anchored rating scales (BARS) — the method real assessment panels use — with a separate rubric for behavioral, motivation, opinion, and background questions.

Content and Delivery, separated

One score for what you said (STAR structure, relevance, substance) and one for how you said it (conciseness, filler, ownership). A readiness band sums it up — so you know exactly which half to work on.

Numbers you can trust

Every composite score is computed deterministically in code from the per-criterion ratings — the AI never does the arithmetic. The weights and anchors are published in full on the methodology page.

How it works
STEP 1

Set up in a minute

Pick the competencies you want to practice from a structured question bank, choose your level (IC, Manager, or Senior Leader), and optionally paste the job description to tailor the session.

STEP 2

Do the interview

Answer by voice or by typing. Skip or pause like a real session. The questions target your selected competencies — including any AI-generated follow-ups.

STEP 3

Read the report

Per-question BARS feedback with concrete fixes, Content and Delivery scores, your readiness band, and a downloadable PDF of the full report and transcript.

The methodology is the product

Built on how structured interviews are actually scored.

Each question is classified by what it asks for and scored on a weighted rubric built for that type. STAR is applied only where a specific example is requested. The four STAR components and Answering-the-Question are rated on 1–5 behaviorally anchored scales, calibrated to the level you selected — the same answer that scores well for an individual contributor is held to a higher bar for a senior leader. Every weight, anchor, and formula is public.

FAQ
Isn't the scoring just an AI's opinion?

No — and that's the point of the design. The AI rates each criterion against published, behaviorally anchored scales, and all composite scores are then computed in code from those ratings. The rubrics, weights, and anchors are documented in full on the methodology page, so you can check the math yourself.

Where do the questions come from?

A structured bank of 75 questions across 15 competencies (with operational definitions), written for structured behavioral interviewing. You can add your own questions, and optionally allow a limited share of AI-generated questions — each targeted at a competency you selected, and tailored to the job description if you provided one.

Do I answer by voice or by typing?

Either. Voice practice is closer to the real thing — pacing, filler words, and thinking time are part of your Delivery score. Voice currently uses your browser's built-in speech recognition, so typed answers give the most precise filler-word counts for now.

Does it work for my level?

The scoring anchors are calibrated to the level you choose — Individual Contributor, Manager, or Senior Leader. The same answer is held to a different bar at each level, and manager- and senior-specific competencies unlock at those levels.

What happens to my answers?

Your answers are sent to an AI model (Anthropic's Claude) for evaluation and are not used to train models. There are no accounts yet — nothing is stored after your session beyond the report you download.
